I just wanted to say thanks again for the excellent service and professionalism of your staff with regards to diagnosing my hearing loss and prescribing what I believe is the perfect solution to it.

As a pilot, and after more than 22,000 hours logged in aircraft, the exposure to high ambient noise levels gradually caused a degradation of my hearing. I was not quite ready to accept that whatever haring loss I had was necessary to address, much less start wearing hearing aids, as I had not yet arrived at my 50th birthday. My wife expressed increasing frustration at the need to repeat things to the point that it was causing friction in our relationship. I regularly made excuses, perhaps was in denial, and was not ready to wear hearing aids "like some old person".

After doing a little research on my own, I selected Audiology and Hearing Aids of Montgomery, "just to get my hearing checked" and examine my options. In the process, I discovered that my insurance would cover a large share of the cost of a device, should I decide to go that route. The exam confirmed what I had denied for years, that I did indeed have significant hearing loss.

After discussion of my options, the Lyric device seemed ideal for my active lifestyle. The thought of the trouble of having to remove devices every time I showered, swam, or went to bed, not to mention changing out batteries was not something that I looked forward to. To my pleasant surprise, I learned that the Lyric was a carefree, semi-permanent device, completely programmable, and did not require removal except when its batteries were depleted roughly four times a year! They fit deep in the ear canal, and cannot be seen without a bright light and a purposeful examination. No one knows I even have them unless I tell them.

My wife is delighted, I can now again hear things that I had not heard for years, and the TV can be turned to a very low level. After a couple of weeks adjusting to having them in my ears 24-7, I largely forget that they are even there! This is a win-win for me my wife, and everyone around me, and I could not be happier with their performance, comfort, carefree use, and especially the professional service of the staff at Audiology and Hearing Aids of Montgomery. I have already recommended them to some friends and associated. The "new normal" for me truly is a tremendous improvement and I could not be happier!
